This month we have articles that focus on successfully deployed IT solutions for school meals, street scene officers and secure mobile connectivity. We would encourage you to review these and why not share this month’s GTN with other colleagues?  If you have received this from a friend and would like to receive your own copy, please subscribe here.

CASE STUDY
Innovative points reward scheme increases uptake of school meals

SOLUTION PROFILE
Councils in Berkshire and Sussex improve reporting on National Indicators for Street and Environmental cleanliness’

Go to Cordia Case StudyCordia is a spin off organisation of Glasgow City Council. It is responsible for various services across the city of Glasgow including catering in schools.

The organisation has pioneered an innovative Fuel Zone Points Reward scheme, to tackle the well publicised decline in school meal uptake.

The scheme enables pupils to receive points for eating a range of healthy choice items including sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, salads, milk and water. These points are uploaded at the end of each day and pupils can trade them for rewards from an online catalogue, which range from cinema tickets to iPods.
